Scott McKenzieMeet Scott McKenzie

Surrounded by 3 older music-loving siblings, Scott McKenzie grew up in a household where the radio was always on.  At a young age, he was struck by the energy and creativity of his favorite deejays and knew by age 12 that that’s what he wanted to be when he grew up. (Much to the chagrin of his father who thought he would be following his footsteps into dentistry.)

After hosting morning shows for 4 years in college he began his professional career in a small town in Ohio.  He then took his show to Tallahassee, Boston, and eventually Orlando where he has hosted the morning show at MIX105.1 for the past 23 years.  After 35 years in radio, Scott’s dad, who is now 95, has become his biggest fan.

Scott’s wife Fran is a psychologist in Winter Park.  They have one daughter, Lauren, who is a senior studying public relations at the University Of Florida.

Meet Allison WalkerAllison Walker

Allison is an Emmy-award winning entertainment reporter/anchor. With the partnership of editor and photographer Chris de Leon, the duo received two back-to-back nominations, winning the Emmy in 2013 for their “On The Town” franchise.

Allison came to News 13 in 2007. After sitting behind the weekend anchor desk at News 13, Allison is now taking on a high-profile assignment as full-time reporter/field anchor for News 13 (and Bay News 9 contributor).

As an Entertainment Specialist, she covers everything from the business of entertainment to the entertainers themselves, and reports on news and events connected to the entertainment industry. She produces and reports “Theme Park Wars” segments, making sure viewers are the first to know about breaking events out at Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld.

If it’s happening around Central Florida, count on Allison to cover the latest in entertainment and celebrity news, with special coverage on Local on Demand, only for Bright House Networks customers on Channel 999.

Viewers can also watch Allison Walker Tuesday and Friday on News 13 during her entertainment feature “On the Town.” Then, on both Saturday and Sunday, catch two different “On the Town Calendars” to hear about some of the weekend’s must-see events. On Wednesdays, join Allison on “Chef’s Kitchen” to learn how to make some of the sexiest dishes from the best chefs in town.

Allison’s broadcasting career gave her the opportunity to “connect the dots” across America. Allison graduated from Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, with a B.S. in Science, Technology and Culture. Her professional career began in the Southeast at CNN in Atlanta, first as a reporter for CNN Student News, and then as an associate producer at the Military Desk when the War in Iraq broke out.

She then moved out West to KLBC in Laughlin, Nevada, where she not only co-anchored the 5 p.m. news, but was also the leading political reporter, drilling both the Nevada and Arizona legislators. Allison then moved to Elmira, N.Y., to anchor and produce the weekend 6 and 11 p.m. broadcasts at WETM 18 News. Soon, she was promoted to anchor and producer of WETM 18 News at Noon. Allison also embraced her position as the station’s only health reporter, and contributed general assignment reports daily.
